CONCENTRATION

Our concentration systems are applied to multiple products allowing us to optimize energy consumption, minimize fouling, thermal stress, and corrosion to maximize the quality of the final product.

Evaporation concentration is applied to several different industries, from wastewater treatment to sugar refineries, but also solvent recovery, and in general to all the different distillery streams that require the concentration of solids through water evaporation.

Our multiple-effect evaporation concentration plants allow the optimization of energy consumption, possibly through the recovery of other steam streams available in the plant, using heat exchangers of various types (natural circulation, forced circulation, falling film). The type of heat exchanger is selected according to the properties of the liquid to be concentrated, in particular, to minimize fouling and thermal stress, considering the temperature of the available steam.

In situations where the cost of electricity is more advantageous than steam, it is possible to opt for a plant equipped with mechanical vapor recompression (MVR). In these plants, the vapor released from the liquid to be concentrated is heated by a compressor and then used to heat the liquid itself. These plants are very compact and adaptable to a wide range of applications. Most applications involve a falling film vapor exchanger, but other heat transfer technologies are also available.

The material of construction of the parts in contact with the product is selected according to the needs of corrosion resistance, from austenitic stainless steels AISI 304 and AISI 316, up to AISI304L, 316L, Duplex, Super Duplex, 306L, and others, for the concentration of more corrosive compounds.
